Introduction

Welcome to the Armenian Insurance Settlement Fund (“AISF”) Web Site.

This is the official site for news and information regarding the settlement of the class action, Martin Marootian et al., on behalf of themselves and all others similarly situated Plaintiffs v. New York Life Insurance Company, Defendant, Case No. C99012073 CAS (MCx), in the United States District Court, Central District of California.

The Settlement was approved on July 20, 2004 by Judge Christina A. Snyder of the United States District Court in Los Angeles, California.

The Settlement Board is currently in the process of evaluating all Notice of Claims received prior to the deadline of March 16, 2005.  A letter, which describes the current evaluation process and plans for distribution, has been sent to all claimants, both timely and late, who submitted Notice of Claim forms.

In order to fully process all claims, those who have submitted notices on time have been requested to complete the AISF Questionnaire in order to provide the Board with additional supporting information.  If you are in need of an additional questionnaire, you may download it from this site and mail it to the Armenian Insurance Settlement Fund office no later than a post-marked date of November 7, 2005.  Please note that the questionnaire is only for claimants who received a letter from the Board requesting such information.  If you submit a questionnaire without having been requested to do so, it will not be considered as a properly received claim.

We urge claimants to submit any additional supporting documentation at this time.  To complete your submission, you must comply with the settlement agreement’s supporting documentation requirements which are described in the letter sent to all claimants who properly filed on time.  Please click on the Request for Additional Supporting Documentation Letter” to read the requirements before submitting any new information or documentation.  If you do not have any additional information or documentation to submit, please write to the Armenian Insurance Settlement Fund Board and indicate that you will not be submitting anything else to your file.  Please write your name and name of insured on the letter.

All documents and complete questionnaires must be sent to the Armenian Insurance Settlement Fund Board Office at:  900 Wilshire Boulevard, Suite 614, Los Angeles, California, 90017, and post-marked no later than November 7, 2005
